OpinionJournal - Peggy Noonan
This is Peggy Noonan's take on the death of Ken Lay, former chairman of Enron. She takes the point of view that the massive coronary was really a broken heart. She says that Mr. Lay's life was ruined and the scandal of Enron's demise broke his heart. She goes on to explain that in today's modern media, there is no place to hide, no place to start over when you have messed up. She summed up Lay's death as a person who came from little, worked his way up through his education, then on through the business world, reached the top and then messed up. The weight of this literally killed him. A sad ending to a very sad story.
Other news outlets are already investigating what will happen now with the legal case. More to come...
